Vintage Gretsch Guitar

Up for auction is a set of 60's vintage Gretsch drums. Beautiful "Marine Pearl" finish. I believe the shells are 3-ply. I say that because it looks like three wood shells with an adhesive between each layer. All original parts. Needs some TLC. The chrome on the cymbal stand is excellent, though the cymbal mount at the top will turn around on the tube. Also, the screw that tightens the cymbal stand on the bass drum holder is stripped. A pro can either sleeve it or tap it for a different sized screw. Although I consider this one of the most beautiful and classic finishes there is, the finish laminate has peeled away at the seems on all three drums. Chrome is good overall except for some rim pitting on the tom toms. Sizes are as follows: 22" bass drum (model #4247/SN 09557), 9"x13" mounted tom (model #4416/SN 09449),and 16"x16" floor tom (model #4418/SN 30956). Both toms have their dual mufflers, though the floor tom mufflers cannot be installed until the finish problem is corrected. There are 2 holes drilled on top of the bass drum where it appears as if someone tried to move the tom tom bracket. Also included is the original spur bracket that mounts on the front bass drum rim, though it's missing the spurs and a bit rusty.
This is a classic set of vintage Gretsch drums that with the proper restoration could be a great addition to anyones collection. Happy Bidding!
